I’ve seen several ads lately, as I’m sure you have also, from various companies offer to do a “Free” deep scan of your computer. Debbie asked me what the difference is between a “full scan” and a “deep scan?” Not being a techie, I didn’t have a clue … but I did do a little research. What I do know is that, after doing the “deep scan,” they are going to tell me that they discovered a number of threats and that for a small fee I can subscribe to their service to protect me from such threats.
As best I can sort it out, a “full scan” goes through all the files on the computer to be sure that they are all safe and legitimate, while a “deep scan” goes through the files searching for hidden computer codes that can take over the operating system of the computer, making it do things that you don’t want it to … like hacking into sensitive personal information.
I got to thinking about this and thought that there would be a real market for someone who could write a program that had the capacity to “scan” our personal operating system.
Wouldn’t it be great to be able to periodically plug ourselves in to a device that would scan our thoughts and behaviors jut to be sure that there was nothing there that is harmful to our overall well-being?
Wouldn’t it be even greater to have that device scan our thinking and behavior at an even deeper level to see if there is any “hidden” code lurking within that would totally disrupt our lives and relationships in ways that cause our lives to “crash” … in ways that would allow other powers and principalities to take over our lives leaving a trail of destruction and devastation?
It turns out that there is such a program … and – like the one’s advertised for our devices – it is also free! The difference is that anything the program discovers, YOU can choose to remove yourself … and there is no charge for “cleaning up” your operating system.
Are you ready? I’m giving it away absolutely free!
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Is what I’m thinking making my life more joyful … or more miserable?
- Is what I’m doing making my life better?
- Is what I’m doing – or about to do – harmful (or potentially harmful) to myself, anyone else, or the world around me?
- Would I be embarrassed if anyone found out about my actions?
There you have it! Four simple questions. The catch is that you have to be willing to be resolutely honest with yourself. If you come across any thought or behavior that doesn’t pass the test of making your life and the lives of others better, then delete it! That’s it!
So, here’s my invitation for you today: Have the courage to do a full and deep scan of your operating system … your thoughts and your behaviors. Think and behave in ways that reflect your Inner Magnificence.
The extent to which you do is the extent to which you’ll be able to say, “I feel good about being me!” … and that’s a promise!
